Meetings

Regular meetings are held the 3rd Wednesday each month (September through May) in WCCC's beautiful clubhouse at 7931 Connecticut Ave., Chevy Chase. Business meeting begins at 11 AM, followed by a luncheon and a speaker. Guests always welcome.

Section Meetings: WCCC has many interest sections which meet monthly. International Affairs, Music, Education, Literature, Arts, Heritage Preservation, and Beading.

Chevy Chase Art and Craft Fair

The Woman’s Club of Chevy Chase, Inc., will be hosting the Chevy Chase Art and Craft Fair on Saturday, November 9, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We chose this date carefully to make sure that it was before Thanksgiving and the holidays.

We are focusing only on handmade items. The Art and Craft Fair will include works by local artists, handmade jewelry, purses, jackets, scarves, pottery, fused glass, and hand-painted glassware and more by local artisans, as well as specialty foods, such as homemade jams, chocolates, bread, and more. There will be 40 vendor tables available.

The proceeds from this event will go to local charities that the Woman’s Club of Chevy Chase, Inc., support; such as, Hearts and Homes for Youth, Shepherd’s Table, Greentree Shelter, Wounded Warrior Transition Brigade, as well as scholarships to high school seniors and graduate music students at the University of Maryland and Montgomery College.

Throughout the morning, we will be serving coffee, tea, and a light breakfast and in the afternoon, lunch and light beverages.

Based upon the feedback from our last Art and Craft Fair, we will be doing more advertising and outreach to the community. We will be advertising in The Washington Post, Montgomery County Gazette, list-serves in the community reaching from Washington, DC, to Bethesda, to Kensington, to Silver Spring, and, of course, to Chevy Chase. We will also be using social media to get the word out. We will be asking you to reach out to your clientele to advertise the event.

SET UP and COST: Exhibitors will set up in assigned indoor spaces. The Woman’s Club (WCCC) will furnish one table (6’ x 2.5’) and 2 chairs at a cost of $100. For art work, in place of the table, we will furnish you two partitions at a cost of $100. Please indicate YES ___ if you would like electricity, and, if so, bring an extension cord. Some space may be available outdoors on the grass or parking lot, weather permitting, at the discretion of WCCC. No electricity will be available outdoors. Set-up may begin between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 on Friday, November 8, 2013, and 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 9. All exhibitors must remove their property and vacate the building by 6:00 p.m. on November 9, 2013.

Additional cost may apply if more space is needed. We will attempt to meet all of your needs. If you have any questions, please call.

Parking is free. There is ample parking in the WCCC lot behind the clubhouse, and after the Library closes at 1 pm, in that lot across Dunlop Street. After you have unloaded items for your table, we will
ask you to move your vehicle to the church parking lot immediately south of our building, to leave
more room for buyers to park.

Only 40 indoor exhibitors will be accepted. Applications will be accepted until that limit is reached or until Tuesday, November 4, 2013, whichever comes first.

If you don’t have a Maryland sales tax number, you will need to contact the Maryland Sales Tax Office prior to the event to get one. The exhibitors are solely responsible to report the sales to the Tax Office and pay the 6 percent sales tax for each sale.

WCCC is not responsible for lost or stolen property.
