Saturday, October 10, 2026--8:00 a.m.-12:00 noon. Yard Sale, Bethany Community Church, 15720 Riding Stable Rd, Laurel, MD 20707. Our first major fundraiser of the club year. Clothing, housewares, books, toys, etc. Proceeds support various philanthropies in the Laurel area. Rain date October 17, 2026.

Club News

Ready to have Milk & Cookies with Santa. Members baked over 60 dozen cookies, and welcomed nearly 100 guests to our annual "Milk & Cookies with Santa" event in early December. Home baked cookies, stuffed animal raffles, children's goody bags,and a visit with Santa in our cozy clubhouse. What better way to kick off the holiday season?

For the Literacy for Little Ones Project, the club put together 20 literacy sets prepared specifically for toddlers. Each set consisted of the sturdy board book The Very Hungry Caterpillar, a stuffed caterpillar that corresponds to the main character of the book, and a laminated card for the parent with suggestions of ways to foster a love for books in young children. These book sets will be given to families with toddlers through a local support services agency.

WCL members hosted an ice cream social and bingo event for the guests at Sarah's House, a transitional program for families in need of support to regain stability.

The WCL hosted a complimentary gift-wrapping event at Savage Mill as a fundraiser, accepting only donations for wrapping Christmas presents for shoppers.

The WCL members contributed an equivalent weight of items to the 2nd Avenue Thrift Store as part a fundraising initiative.


The students of Laurel Elementary are the recipients of the Birthday Book Club. Each student receives a book for their birthday.
