Making Maryland proud winning 4th place in the 2016 Community Improvement Program at the GFWC Annual Convention in Baltimore.

Some of the food collected at the GFWC Maryland Convention in Columbia, Maryland, April 21-22, 2018.  Thank you to the awesome Maryland clubwomen for their generous support of our club’s Weekend Tummy Tamers program.  This project supplies weekend bags of food to local elementary school children who have been identified as food insecure.

Just a sampling of the various items which are sent home weekly as part of our Weekend Tummy Tamers program.

We were honored to have GFWC President-elect Babs Condon as our guest and installing officer at our 2014 installation, held at the Ram’s Head Tavern in Savage Mill.

Our clubhouse, located in the Laurel Main Street Historic District, served as the refreshment stop on the Laurel Historical Society’s Holiday House Tour.  We were proud to show off our club’s hospitality as we welcomed the community into our lovely home.

Our building, once a millinery shop, was donated to the Woman’s Club of Laurel jointly with the Laurel Library in 1929.  Since 1967, it has served exclusively as our clubhouse.

A display highlighting the building’s history included this sign which used to hang in front of our clubhouse, and is now a treasured memento of our proud history.

Our members got to work right away at our first meeting of the 2014-2015 club year, laminating parent suggestion cards for our “Literacy for Little Ones” project.  The cards are included with free books distributed to pre-k students at a local elementary school.  This program is done in cooperation with Side by Side, a local educational support organization.
