The 2025 GFWC Maryland Convention brought members together for a meaningful weekend focused on service, advocacy, and community connection. Centered around the theme “Anchor of Hope,” the event emphasized the importance of mental health awareness and the power of support and empowerment. Junior Day was a success, celebrating the theme “Be the Wave of Change – Shaping Education’s Future.” Members highlighted innovative projects and efforts that are helping shape brighter educational opportunities in local communities. The convention featured a variety of awards presentations, with each category including a special Anchor Award—recognizing projects that created waves of change and made a lasting impact. It was an honor to celebrate the difference our clubs make for their communities.
On Tuesday Sept 16th, GFWC Maryland Clubwomen met at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation for a fun-filled day. We discussed State updates, created recyclable sea creatures in a team building exercise, and learned about the work of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation from our guest speaker, Jocelyn Tuttle. President Lilly awarded anchor awards to Janet Morgan, Jeanne Pim, Babs Condon, and Anne Yakaitis.
On Saturday Aug 16, GFWC Maryland Members gathered for our Summer Workshop. We learned key reporting tips, ideas to gain new members and retain them, and potential leadership activities. It was an impactful day for all in attendance.
